Early Intervention
All services delivered by Speaking From The Heart, Inc. are provided by staff holding at least the minimum required Pennsylvania State credentials, licensure, and mandated continuing education. Services provided by this agency follow the guidelines outlined by the Pennsylvania Model of Early Intervention and include the following key factors:
- Individualized Plans
- Family/Caregiver Priorities
- Family/Caregiver Training and Education
- Team Approach and Communication
- Natural Environment
- Daily Routine’s Based Intervention
There are five main areas of child development that are the focus of Early Intervention:
Cognitive—Play, thinking, early educational concepts, attention and focus
Communication—Speech and language skills used to understand others and to express themselves
Physical—Muscle development to engage in the child’s environment, surroundings, and activities
Adaptive—Learning and use of self-help concepts (dressing, feeding/eating, potty training, etc.)
Social and Emotional—Building purposeful relationships with others and feeling good about themselves
